💣 Fact: Permanent makeup uses pigment (not ink).
This pigment is placed just beneath the first layer of skin as opposed to deeper in traditional tattooing. Standard tattoos use a tattoo machine, whereas permanent makeup uses a micropigmentation machine. Unlike a tattoo which can last a lifetime, permanent makeup lasts about 12-16 months. It eventually fades to nothing, rather than fading to a greenish-blue like a tattoo. 😘
